Complex tiered landscape involving stone masonry, irrigation, and planting.
Construction of works required area with 7 different levels which were to be completed in stages due to access difficulties. Project planned so when an area was completed and became inaccessible, items such as drainage and electrical were installed for next level.
Design was commissioned to The Garden Planner.
Due to the fact that half of the existing garden let drainage flow to next block there were no services for storm water. A large concrete tank was place to collect all run-off and drainage. A pump installed to redirect flow to an existing outlet. Full auto irrigation was supplied.
Altered sandstone was used extensively in walls, retaining walls, and steps. All paved steps were constructed of reinforced concrete and then clad with bullnose paving. Structured planting was done with hedges, espaliers, and planter boxes on side steps.
Highlight of the entire project was that the owners were married in the garden.
